Hack Kinect and recieve $2,000

Would you like to receive $2,000? Do you know something about programming? I would suggest you keep reading!

The hardware developer Adafruit Industries have offered a $2,000 reward to the person who can hack Microsoft’s Kinect and create an open source driver so Kinect can interact with any operating system.

Apparently, Adafruit think that Kinect’s hardware is amazing and it has endless possibilities.

Surprisingly, Microsoft is not happy about this!

A hacker who calls himself AlexP have already made Kinect interact with a computer running Windows 7. But he is not going to make an open source driver.

If you have the skills to make an open source driver for Kinect then this could be a way to earn a little extra.

You can read more about it here.

If only I was at that calibre of hacking.. and lets face it $2000 dollars for making drivers for making it open source is not exactly worth it..

ive read a bit about AlexP before, he used to be called DarkAlex (i believe) and he's the one that cracked the PSP system for homebrew. He's a great hacker.

i believe that Adafruit is doing a wonderful job by supporting this kind of hacks that eventually are extremely useful for all the DIY electronics and robotics enthusiasts.
